Content Rating
The Narrative Alchemist gaming sessions are designed for mature audiences and generally align between a MPAA PG-13 rating or ESRB M (Mature 17+) rating.
Content may include strong language, intense or emotional themes, violence, and occasional references to mature subject matter. Games never include explicit sexual content.
Players are expected to use discretion when joining a game and to communicate any boundaries or concerns prior to or during play.
Deck of Player Safety
The Deck of Player Safety is a tabletop gaming tool designed to help groups identify and avoid sensitive or uncomfortable topics before or during play, ensuring everyone feels safe and respected.
Players anonymously select cards representing topics they want to exclude from the game. The game master reviews these selections within the group to adjust content accordingly.
X-Cards, N-Cards, and O-Cards are also used. Players can use safety cards physically, through digital or VTT tools, in Discord group chats, or by privately messaging the GM.

Use X if something feels unsafe or upsetting and the scene should stop or change immediately.

Use N if things are becoming uncomfortable and you’d like the scene to shift direction.

Use O if the scene is intense but you’re okay to continue and want others to know play can proceed safely.

Lines & Veils Documentation
Lines and Veils help define clear boundaries for content in our games.
Lines are hard limits that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Veils are soft limits that are not often relevant, but may be occasionally present, depending on game and setting. If, for whatever reason, a veil does arise in a game, it is handled with the utmost caution and care.

Additional trigger warnings are available on the StartPlaying game listing. If additional concerns arise, please contact the game master so it may be addressed immediately.
The Narrative Alchemist reserves the right to remove any player who crosses a defined Line, or who violates an established boundaries, without issuing a refund. The Narrative Alchemist reserves the right to do so without warning or discussion.
